Hi everybody! Here is my CCR video as well as my last blog of the year. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you!

Final Task

Finally, the video is done. I would've never thought that making a 2 minute movie would be this hard. I really had to use all the skills I learned throughout the year for the project to turn out how it did. However, the experience itself was a mix between stressful and fun. There were many unexpected twists and turns. From spring break to travel plans and just general bumps in the road. Almost everything that could go wrong did. But there were also  good moments where we were able to come together have fun and film. In these moments everyone got to showcase their individual filming and movie skills. Overall, the process behind this movie was crazy, hectic, but also really fun. I can't wait for you guys to see it!

Review Editing

The project is finally done!! I'm very excited for this moment. It took a lot of work but it's finally here. After the peer review the group set a day and they met to film. There were some changes made because of the review that day. There were also scenes filmed just to add time. Now it was just time to put everything together and fix the sounds and titles. It sounds like a lot but the plan is to get through it very efficiently. There also shouldn't be any surprises this time which I'm very thankful for. Adding in the the new scenes was simple and didn't take long at all. It did push the movie to a little over 2:00 minutes though. This means that more time had to be taken before our video could be officially finished. Everyone got together and started sorting through clips that were able to be shortened or just taken out in general. It took a little while to get to the 2:00 minute mark but it got there eventually. The next thing done was fixing the sound. At this t

Actual Changes Made...

Sometimes life can be very unexpected. My groups attempt to refilm on Sunday was one of them. The set plan was for Brianna, Lili, Angie and I to film extra scenes on Sunday. It was a kind of iffy plan from the beginning since there was going to but school the next day. Yet everyone still had hope. However, Angie ended up having to go to Cancun. This means that she would not be able to film on Sunday. Now it's just Lili, Brim and I left to film. Filming was only supposed to last about 30 minutes and start at 7:00. Yet there was another bump in the road only hours before it was time to film. My mom is an on call nurse and at around 5:00 she got called in to work. This means that I would have no way to get to Lili's house to film. I was very dejected at this news since I wanted to help out as much as possible. Brianna and Lili did go along with filming though. Our movie was too short so they filmed scenes to go in between the killings. It turns out that since I got killed first

Review Changes Blog

Earlier this week I showed the movie to a small group of people. The other members of my group also proceeded to do the same thing. I received a lot of really great feedback. IT ranged from sound problems to certain actions that were done during different scenes. Other members of my group also got feedback. There were a lot of common topics brought up during this. For example the sound in one of the scenes is a recurring comment made. According to the feedback in one scene the soundtrack was too loud and it made it very hard to hear the dialogue. Because of all the critiques given my group is going to meet up and have a reshoot day. All the editing problems are planned to be fix rather soon. However problems in specific scenes aren't going to be as easy to fix. My group decided to meet up on Sunday. This meeting is to go over al the changes that need to be made. Unlike the first time everyone filmed this one is planned to be much shorter. Everyone will probably arrive during the m

My group and I just recently finished putting the final touches on our video. Getting feedback for this video is really important. Based on the feedback given my group and I will collaborate and make any changes deemed necessary. I showed the video to a group of 3 people and made sure the people weren't someone like my mom, sister, or even best friend. This is because people like the ones listed would most likely tell me that the video looked good no matter what. While it's nice, that type of feedback isn't the one that I'm looking for with this assignment. One comment that came up in each of the people were transitions. Apparently sometimes the camera switches into a new scene very sharply with nothing to blend the two scenes together. I did take note of this and am trying to figure out how to fix it. I'll have to talk to my group but it seems like everyone might need to set aside a day to film transition scenes. Another comment made was that at some points the mu

Second Day of Editing

Image
Today is the second day of editing. This day is going to be mostly focused on title editing. There was a short discussion on what color the titles should be at the beginning. It was resolved and agreed that it would be red throughout the entire time. Then came the picking of the actual font. There was a general idea of what the font should look like. However, no one had used the fonts on CapCut before. This means that around 30 minutes were spent just looking through the fonts and trying to decide what to use. Once this was figured out it was pretty much smooth sailing. Then the group was hit with a pretty obvious thing everyone had forgot about. There had to be a way for the words to exit and enter the screen. It wouldn't have looked right if they just popped up and the went away. This took longer than expected because everyone wanted it to be different each time. This means that each new credit will enter in a different way and exit in a different way from the last one. It took

First Editing Blog

Today is a very exciting day. It is the first day of editing for my group. The first thing done was picking out all the clips in the editing software. The software is called CapCut and is the same software that's been used in all of the projects. This process was fairly easy as the clips were selected during filming. However at this point the video was way too long. It went past 2:00 minutes which meant it had to be cut down. After some trimming of unnecessary parts it was time to add in the jump cuts. This was confusing because there were many different parts to be put together. A lot of the clips also looked alike which made it even more difficult. This took a little while but with the help of the group everyone was able to get through it. After this it was time to work on sound. The first part of sound was to make sure everyone's voices could be heard. The sound levels in all the clips were different so they were leveled and matched up. After that the soundtrack was put in.
