Production blog Props
The short film is in the thriller genere. This means that as a group Angie, Lili, Hannah, and I had to work together to come up with props. These props would fit into and help create a suspenseful vibe which is common for the genre. Initially, one of our group members, Hannah, asked to use two Manila folders from one of her teacher to as props in a scene where Rachel displays her obsession with Chloe. Additionally, we needed red yarn for the same scene, which I will bring to Lili’s house to attach to a bulletin board owned by Rachel. Hannah will also provide the push pins required for this scene. Since none of us owns a bulletin board, we will have to purchase one from Target. To avoid any safety hazards, Lili will have to purchase a bottle that resembles lighter fluid for the scene where we need to simulate a car fire. We will use water instead of lighter fluid to prevent any fire accidents. Hannah will need a magazine or newspaper for the first scene, which everyone already has at home. In the last scene, Chloe will wear sunglasses to see the reflection of the car being lit on fire, and Hannah will also need a pair for the first scene to appear suspicious. For the Starbucks scene, we will purchase coffee, which will provide us with the cups we need. Finally, Rachel will require a picture of Chloe and her birth certificate, which we will print from a picture I have already taken made a template we will get from Google.
