Production Blog - Filming Day One

Yesterday was our first day of filming. When school ended all of my group mates  went into Angie’s car, and started a very interesting mission. I wasn’t able to go with them since I had an interview for volunteering at a hospital. This made me very nervous since I didn’t want to miss out on anything but it ended up being okay. By the time I got back everyone had just started filming since they were getting some props that were needed. Right after, Aleiah was dropped off to my house and brought red yarn. A few minutes after I got there, Hannah and Lili changed outfits to athleisure. Then, everyone went outside in my neighborhood and it was time to start filming. Our first scene was the scene where Chloe and Rachel work out outside and “accidentally” bump into one another. It took a little while as memorizing the lines was a  bit difficult but I was able to get some really good blooper shots.Around 20 minutes later, our scene was done. Once everyone got back to Lili’s house Angie I decided to discuss what would be the best thing to do next. Everyone ended up agreeing that we should go to Las Olas to film the first scene of our film. It consisted of Chloe and her two best friends walking together on a sidewalk and taking while Rachel spies on them. So, everyone got in Angie’s car and drove to Las Olas. Finding a parking spot was took some time but Angie ended up parking close to the avenue. All of us walked a bit until Hannah found the perfect spot. The shot on the small bridge right next to a beautiful restaurant. Shooting this short scene took us approximately 15 minutes because it was hard finding the perfect angle. It would either be too zoomed in, too zoomed out, or a bit slanted. After a few more tries, there was finally got a good shot. Once everyone was done, Angie took us back because my group mates had to get home rather early. After we got to Lili’s house, everyone agreed that most of the props should stay there since because all of the filming will take place there. That way, there’s no risk for losing the props everyone had bought.
