Production Blog: Editing the Music Video

My group and I edited the song before filming the music video. This cut down the editing time by alot and made filming easier. The editing process started on the same day as filming. Lili still did most of the editing process as she has the software to do it. The first step was selecting all the final clips to be used which took around 30 minutes. Then they were grouped together and added to the music. All the scenes couldn't be filmed on the same day. This made editing harder as there was a gap in the middle were the scene was supposed to be. It took probably an hour to go through all the takes and choose the final ones to use in the video. The clips also had to match with the music which took more time then I thought. Lili played around with the sound a little bit more just to make sure everything sound good. The group decided to just leave it how it was. Some of the clips were also a little to long and had to cut down. Most of the editing was able to be finished the same day of filming. Next time the group had class though Lili showed everyone the video. The song sounded a little odd but the clips went together. I am worried about how the rest of the video will be affected by the scene we didn't film. I can't get a feel for the entire video without that scene. Despite this I still think it will turn out great. All in all editing was a much easier process than I thought it would be and went pretty fast.
